What Is The Effect Of Carbon Black Performance On Coatings

一、The application of black in inks and coatings
Carbon black is widely used in ink coatings, mainly for color paint. In the index number, it is sorted by PB K-7, and aniline black ranks PB K-1.
1. The relationship between particle size and performance, carbon black particle size is small, blackness is high and low, oil absorption is large, small, poor dispersion, good coloring power, high electrical conductivity
2. Hue
The lamp black mouth is prone to blue and yellow phases, followed by furnace black, and channel black shows more red and yellow phases. It is good to adjust the black to use channel black, and to adjust the gray to the blue shade of light black is a good hue.
3. Oil absorption
The oil absorption of carbon black directly affects the black paint, the viscosity of the black ink, the spraying/printing condition, the condition of the painted product, the difficulty of grinding, the hiding power control and other effects. When designing screen printing inks, I have experimented a lot on the effects of different oil absorption, different blackness and hue carbon black on gloss and hiding power. Under the premise of excluding the solid content of the main resin, the dispersant has the same effect and the solvent formula is unchanged and other factors interfere.
For screen printing inks, in the case of testing hiding power, it is recommended that high-pigment and high oil absorption carbon black + low-pigment, low oil absorption carbon black. High-pigment carbon black provides pure blackness, while low-pigment carbon black provides excellent hiding power under the premise of ensuring proper addition, so that different hiding power and hue, blackness and transparency can be made on transparent substrate with different compatibility. Lightness.
