What is the use of pyrolysis carbon black after deep processing?

May 16, 2022

The surface of carbon black aggregates can be physically and chemically cross-linked with the rubber matrix, and multiple molecular chains can be connected to a single aggregate to make the loose polymer segments into a whole, thereby greatly improving the mechanical properties of the rubber. Generally, the smaller the particle size of carbon black (the larger the specific surface area per unit), the better the reinforcing effect. The so-called wettability is the degree to which the carbon black is infiltrated by the rubber compound. Only when the carbon black is infiltrated by the rubber compound can it play a reinforcing role. The carbon black reinforcement mechanism is very complex.

After deep processing of waste tire refining carbon black, it can be used for the following purposes:

①The rubber industry replaces some commercial carbon blacks such as N330, N550, N660, N754, N774 for filling.

②The plastic industry is used as plastic masterbatch for EVA foaming, PE blowing film, plastic mold parts, etc., to reduce the cost of commercial carbon black and enhance the visual impression of high chroma.

③As a pigment for offset printing ink, it can greatly improve the ink dispersion, fluidity, brightness, blackness and other properties.

④Replace some wood-based and coal-based activated carbons in the fields of sewage purification, environmental protection, and medicine and health.

⑤As an inorganic filler, it can be used as a reinforcing agent for road asphalt modification to improve the performance of the road surface, especially suitable for areas with strong ultraviolet radiation such as the western plateau (such as Qinghai, Tibet).
