How to use pigment carbon black in cement

May 29, 2022

Carbon black can be used in cement. Cement mortar carbon black (carbon black) and pigment carbon black are often used for the coloring of cement or asbestos cement, that is, black or gray colorants. Since cement or asbestos cement is operated and applied in an aqueous medium, the requirements for carbon black should be different from other carbon blacks, and carbon black preparations that are easily dispersed in water by adding wetting agents should be used.

The role of carbon black in cement:

1. Commonly used in cement highways, railways, bridges, submarine tunnels, color tile caulks, cement bricks, asbestos tiles, roofing materials, asbestos cement boards, cement building boards and other cement building materials.

2. It has excellent affinity, adsorption, dispersibility, cohesion, lubricity and coloring properties in cement.

3. Good water solubility, high quality stability, no precipitation, no whitening, easy molding, easy demoulding, Jiangsu thermal cracking carbon black, which can greatly reduce the damage rate.

4. Wide range of acid and alkali resistance (between PH value 4-12), good light resistance and weather resistance.

5. The amount of mixing is small (0.2%-5%), the workability is good, the use is convenient, the water reduction is good, the brick is fast, the price is cheap, and the cost performance is much better than similar products.

6. In addition to coloring, carbon black and pigment carbon black can also be used as a pulverization accelerator for cement, which can shorten the pulverization time, make the particle size smaller, and increase the fluidity of dry powder. For example, adding 1.3% can shorten the pulverization time. 1/3. For example, the dry cement powder is coated with 0.2~1% bitumen film, and then mixed with 02~1.5% carbon black (particle size < 70mm). A highly cohesive Portland cement, which also contains 2-5% gypsum.

7. Adding carbon black and carbon fiber to concrete can make the concrete have electrical conductivity and can be used in anti-static applications.
