Application of Pigment Carbon Black Conductive Carbon Black in Paints and Coatings

The black pastes used in many polyurethanes are dispersions of carbon black. If the polyurethane paint has high requirements for carbon black, it must be added after grinding and dispersion, which can increase its dispersibility.

Pigment carbon black gives the coating film its color and enables the coating film to have the ability to cover the object to be coated, so as to play its decorative and protective role. Some carbon blacks can also provide properties such as: improving the mechanical properties of the paint film, improving the durability of the paint film, providing anti-corrosion, electrical conductivity, flame retardant and other properties. Pigments can be divided into natural pigments and synthetic pigments according to their sources; inorganic pigments are the most used in coatings.

For the two-component polyurethane paint, one of which is the curing agent, shake the tin can vigorously, and the paint should feel shaking, which proves that the curing agent is basically intact. Also look at the shelf life of the curing agent, generally 6 to 12 months. The paint film has strong adhesion. Polyurethane, like epoxy, can be formulated as an excellent adhesive. Therefore, the coating film has excellent adhesion to various surfaces (metal, wood, rubber, concrete, some plastics, etc.).
