Industry development of carbon black

Apr 16, 2021

Before 2000, there was only one carbon black enterprise with an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons; at the end of 2001, there were 111 carbon black production enterprises nationwide, with a total production of 1.2 million tons. Among them, the number of companies with a production capacity of more than 50,000 t/a (including 50,000 t/a) has grown to six; there is only one carbon black company with an annual production capacity of 50,000 t/a. In 2003, it developed to nine companies, and the country’s newly increased carbon black production capacity was approximately 38.15 million tons, all of which came from a wet granulated carbon black production line with an annual output of 1.15 million to 2.1 million tons.

In 2004, my country's carbon black industry developed simultaneously with the advancement of the rubber industry. By the end of 2004, the total annual production capacity of my country’s carbon black industry had exceeded 1.6 million tons, and the total annual output of carbon black reached 1.25 million tons, an increase of 23% over 2003; imports were about 113,700 tons and exports were about 78,500 tons. The consumption is about 1,285,200 tons.

In 2005, the growth rate of demand for rubber carbon black will reach 16%, the demand for carbon black is about 1.49 million tons, and 100,000 tons of carbon black need to be imported. As domestic carbon black companies are increasing their export volume, the national carbon black export volume reached 100,000 tons in 2005, a growth rate of 17%. In this way, imports and exports will be basically the same, and the demand for carbon black in the domestic market should be the actual output.
