Why Should Carbon Black Be Added When Making Tires With Natural Rubber To Become Black?
Jul 21, 2021
Generally, the amount in rubber accounts for 20%-70% of the raw rubber. According to the different amount of different rubber products, according to the different uses of the rubber products, choose different types of carbon black varieties. One of the uses of carbon black in the rubber industry is to prevent ultraviolet light aging. Because carbon black has high light absorption, it can effectively prevent the rubber from being irradiated by the sun to produce photooxidative degradation. The role of carbon black as a UV stabilizer in rubber is: converting light energy into heat energy; protecting the rubber surface from radiation of a certain wavelength; intercepting atomic groups to produce anti-aging effects, thereby preventing catalytic degradation. The blackness is directly related to the particle size of carbon black. The smaller the particle size, the larger the specific surface area, and the higher the blackness of carbon black, the better the UV protection effect.
